I have been wanting to try Soora and one of my friends came with me. We came around 7:30 on a weekday and it was quite busy. We were seated immediately and asked what we wanted to drink. Interestingly, they do serve alcohol but they don't really mention it. I asked the waitress about specific items and she seemed surprised that I knew what those things were. They didn't have any flavored soju that day but later found out they do sometimes have it. My friend and I got bokbunja and soju.

For food we got takoyaki, jajangmyeon, ddukbokki, and bulgogi. I would love to try their haemul pajeon but we got so much food already lol. The takoyaki was super fresh and tasty. The jajangmyeon had good flavor but thankfully not too salty, noodles were cooked perfectly. Ddukbokki is my personal favorite. It's not that hard to make at home but I feel like it's one of those things that always tastes better when someone else makes it. The sauce was nice and spicy and pretty thick. I hate watery sauce. Their fish cakes were also a nice consistency and not too strong a taste. I ate them and usually I just pick around it. The bulgogi was good but I prefer a bit of caramelization so I would probably get the kalbi next time. The meat was plentiful and tender but I just like that char, I guess.

Banchan were super traditional- kimchi, cucumber kimchi, pickled radish, sesame oil beansprouts, seaweed.

Best Korean food in the D!

This place is the perfect example of why you should not judge a book by its cover. The outside of the restaurant doesn't look extremely fancy or appealing, however your mind will change the second you walk through the front doors. The establishment itself is very well kept and clean, and the inside looks very chique/modern. Very friendly staff, and the food here is phenomenal!!

I don't even know where to begin. The vegetable Korean pancake and the kimchi version of the same pancake are mouth watering. They're cooked to a nice crispy finish, and there is so much flavor in each bite. Nice assortment of seafood in them as well. The bon chon is also very good, including the kimchi and cucumber kimchi. The chicken wings have a sweet and spicy flavor to them, and are overall exquisite. Very crunchy too; perfect Korean style.

The noodle dishes here are all so good as well in their own unique ways. The cold buckwheat noodle dish (nang myun) is perfect for a hot summer day, and there is so much deep flavor in the soup. Noodles are nice and chewy as well. The blackbeab noodle dish and jjamppong are probably some of the best I've ever had. If you like Korean food, you NEED to try this place! I've come here multiple times since initially discovering this gem, and I plan to increase that number exponentially in my future!

Authentic and the menu sections had a little of everything. I am quite the multiple dish orderer so I had the mackerel and soft tofu combo. The portions are perfect. 1/2 a fish and 1/2 a soup dish. The dukbokee was perfectly seasoned and just the right spice. I hate it when restaurants over compensate with red pepper flakes and not enough flavor. The buson fish cakes in the dish were hearty and the portions were perfect with the rice cakes. Next was the pork belly bo sam. Loved the quality of the meat and the side fixings. Wasn't too fond of the seafood side but to each it's own. If your feeling adventurous get this dish. The seafood black noodles chagangmyun was flavorful but a dry. Nothing a little more sauce couldn't fix though. And most importantly the sides were a 7 out of 10.

Overall food- 7 out of 10
    Service- 8 out of 10
Food availability and selection 9 out of 10

When you drive by this restaurant is so unassuming you may miss it, but this place is a mustn't miss! I love the the kimchee and condiments they give you before the meal, very tasty! Their takoyaki is so delicious even my daughter who hates seafood can't get enough. Their crab fried rice is the best I've even had. It is heaping with so much crab meat, you can't go wrong with this dish. My daughter came for their fried chicken! It is the best chicken I've ever had, and the plate of seasoning they give enhances the flavor. The portion is big enough for four plus leftovers. I also had the seafood pancake, simple yet delicious. This place is definitely a new favorite.

We were seated with some hot barley tea, ordered the veggie japchae and kimchi jjigae.
The banchans came out: broccoli, fish cake, seaweed and kimchi. The fish cake is sweet, kimchi is decent.
    The japchae noodles are good.
The kimchi jjigae was bubbly and hot, but would have liked a bit more rice cake and the kimchi to be stew cooked a bit longer, was still a bit crunchy.
The food was still good and the staff are all friendly and attentive.
Limited parking in the front for the bakery and the restaurant, more parking in the back.
